Expert Behavioral and Substance Abuse Counselor in Alabama

Roslyn Sales, a native of Huntsville, AL, is a certified, licensed professional counselor with over 18 years of experience in meeting the mental health needs of the community. She provides care for a range of conditions including anxiety, stress, depression, alcohol and other drugs, anger management, relationship conflict, and other challenges. Roslyn specializes in helping adults identify problematic behavior and develop conflict resolution skills to help rectify disruptive habits. She is also an advocate for mental health wellness for members of the military community.

As a US Army Veteran, Roslyn witnessed the physical and emotional stress that soldiers experienced. She came to realize that mental fortitude was an attribute required to overcome the challenges of being in the military. She observed how leaders mentored and counseled soldiers; how they noticed their struggles, and addressed their needs to help get them through difficulties. The attention and concern for the well-being of their soldiers left a strong impression on her. Those experiences she had in the military were the determining factors in her decision to become a mental health specialist.

Roslyn continues to serve the Tennessee Valley by providing counseling and therapy that not only maintain, but improve mental health. In addition, she is a Vocational Expert (VE). As a VE, she is a recognized by the Social Security Administration as an expert witness in litigation involving disability appeals. Roslyn has the knowledge and training necessary to help her clients overcome the many stressors that are prevalent in society today, along with the tools to help them develop the skills they will need to live a well-balanced life. Her commitment to ensuring that her clients get the best possible care is evident in her specialties and certifications: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S), Advance Alcohol / Drug Abuse Counselor (AADC), International Certified Advanced Alcohol & Drug Counselor (ICAADC) Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), National Certified Counselor (NCC) and member of the International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC).

Activities that Roslyn enjoys are hiking, mountain biking, camping, traveling, and exploring new destinations. She also enjoys immersing herself in different cultures, which helps her develop a better understanding of diverse communities. Fun fact: Roslyn has a passion for driving vintage, muscle cars!

Her skills and expertise includes  adolescent, adult, and family therapy, with an added mastery in substance abuse and dual-diagnosis disorders.
