Johnson Arloo M.S.,LPC
Johnson Arloo is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has worked in mental health for seven years. After working in advertising for eleven years in Ghana as a radio and TV producer/director/copy writer, he immigrated to the United States of America in August, 2008. At his visa interview, he recalls that the first question he was asked by the Consular Officer at the embassy was: “What’s the connection between psychology and advertising?” He reflected for a moment on the fact that his background had given him a unique perspective on the things that really mattered in life: love, humanity, and the timeless injunction to be each other’s keeper. “Having worked in advertising for eleven years, “ he remembers telling the officer, “ I feel jaded; I want to do something more positive with my life.” And that has been his guiding principle since then; that mental health is indispensable to the well-lived life.
Mr. Arloo has expertise in addiction, anxiety/ depression, behavioral issues, coaching, positive psychology, and related areas. He has also been an adjunct faculty at Alabama A&M University for the past five years, teaching research at the undergraduate level in the Psychology Department. In addition to counseling, Mr. Arloo has written “The Arloo Essay Matrix: A Simple Guide to College Essay Writing” and “The Arloo Essay Paragraph and Critical Thinking.”
In his leisure time, and also to maintain mental well-being, Mr. Arloo likes to read and write, travel, cook, engage in light workouts, and watch movies. He is also an avid entrepreneur.
